The debate is all over the web regarding Microsoft’s decision to use Word to render HTML emails in Outlook 2007.

Luckily a new email testing service has been launched that will help you to be sure your emails appear correctly. SiteVista is very similar to Browsercam in that it will let you see rendered versions of your message as it would appear in Gmail, Hotmail and several versions of Outlook.

They will be adding other email clients over the next few weeks, such as: AOL Mail, Yahoo! Mail, Outlook Express, Eudora, Apple Mail, and Entourage.

It works by you sending an HTML email to the address they provide. For every email you send, you receive two screen captures. One of the email as it is displayed in the software’s preview pane (see an example), and one showing you the entire message once it’s been opened (see an example).

If you deal with email newsletters on a regular basis, SiteVista may prove to be a valuable resource for you.
