You may be getting a lot of email from site scrapers that search websites for email addresses shown on the site. You’re not going to take your email address off because it’s important to let people get in touch with you. But what do you do?
Do you create an image showing your email and use that? Well, that’s fine, but what about the mailto: link?
Welcome to email address encoding. The form on this site will make encoding your email address easy as pie.
The form will encode your email address using character entities. This will transform your ASCII email into its equivalent decimal entity.
All you have to do is enter your email address in the first text box, click the encode button, and then highlight and copy the resulting code (which is your encoded email). The encoded email address can be read by almost any web browser without any more work on your part. Just replace your email addresses on your site with the code and you can forget about those spam scrapers.
