Extended Copy Menu - New Firefox Extension

When I work on redesigns that use some content from the existing site, I’ll simply copy and paste the text in to my editor. Now, because I hand code that isn’t a big deal because I get plain text anyway. But if you are working in a WYSIWYG environment such as Dreamweaver, you’ll get the text and formatting.

So what do you do? One option is the Copy Plain Text extension for Firefox that allows you to copy text from the browser as plain text.

But what if you want to copy as HTML without having to go in to the source code?

This new Firefox Extension, Extended Copy Menu, will let you do just that. Extended Copy Menu provides you with the option to copy a selection as plain text or HTML. The options are added to your right-click context menu.

I’ve installed this extension not so much for the Plain Text option but for the Copy as HTML option. I don’t often want to copy specific HTML from a web page, but this little extension will come in handy when I do!
