When NOT to Launch a Redesign

Kimberly-Clark Corp. issued a press release recently about their newly redesigned website. This redesign makes me sick to my stomach. Here’s a quote from their press release:

The site employs contemporary design, best-in-class navigation and technology…

Not only are there actually TWO… that’s right 2… opening body tags the second one still uses bgColor, leftMargin, etc. This is best-in-class technology? I don’t think so.

Check my validator and I see 271 warnings returned! 271! This is best-in-class technology? I don’t think so.

If you are working on a redesign of your website, please be sure that the code validates and it stays as close to possible to web standards. A redesigned website should be an advancement from the last version of the website.
