I was reading over on SEO Roundtable this morning about a discussion concerning whether or not Digg pages should be listed on Google.

From the discussion over at Search Engine Journal there are a couple different points of view. Allen Stern believes that Digg adds no value to the story and should not be indexed. William Burn says that Digg’s pages do add value and gives pages a chance to be read that may have never been found otherwise.

So where do you stand? I think it’s one of those “6 in one half a dozen in the other” type arguments to be honest. In my opinion Digg’s pages should be listed in Google. For one, as William stated, it gives pages a chance to be seen that they may never have had. Also, the value of the Digg link cannot be overlooked.

For those who have used Digg, if you want to read the article (most all of the time) you are going to visit the original site in the end anyway.

So what do you think? Does Digg provide more value than the source site? Should Digg’s pages be listed in Google?
